Kreayshawn's Album Sets Record for Lowest Sales Of All Time!

After seven days of being available for purchase, Cali rapper Kreayshawn's debut album "Somethin' 'Bout Kreay" sold only 3,900 copies. This has set the new all-time record for the lowest first week sales by an artist signed to a major record label, according to HitsDailyDouble. Soulja Boy previously held the record for his last album which sold just 14,000 copies in its first week on the market. Hopefully for Kreay those numbers will jump up a bit in the following weeks.

Rakim To Be Honored At BET Hip Hop Awards

Hip-Hop legend Rakim Allah will be honored for his contributions to the genre during the annual BET Hip-Hop Awards, which take place this weekend in Atlanta. The rapper has been a professional MC for over 25 years. Rakim, who was nominated to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame along with his partner Eric B, will be honored with the “I Am Hip-Hop Icon Award” during the show, which will be taped September 29 in Atlanta Georgia. The BET Hip-Hop Awards will be hosted by comedian Mike Epps and will air on October 9 at 8:00 PM.

Rapper Flo Rida has been slapped with a tax bill of more than $1 million. The Wild Ones hitmaker, whose real name is Tramar Dillard, is accused of falling behind on payments to the IRS for money earned in 2009 and a tax lien was filed against him in a Miami-Dade County court in Florida on September 7. The hip-hop star's lawyer, Reginald Mathis, insists the matter is being looked in to and and will be resolved as soon as possible. He tells GossipExtra.com, "The accountants are checking into it. We know there were some issues with the year 2009, international expenses and the likes. Whatever Flo owes, he will pay. But I'm confident it's not $1 million!" The allegations of unpaid taxes are not the only legal issues facing Flo Rida - he is also being sued over an outstanding bill for a home security system and was recently ordered to pay $432,704 to the organizers of an Australian music festival after he reportedly failed to show up as scheduled.

Ginuwine Tells Drake to Leave Aaliyah Album Alone

Posthumous albums are always a little touchy, and people are usually apprehensive about supporting them. Even 2pac's "Loyal To The Game" had people questioning whether or not Eminem should be executive producing a 2pac album. Now the drama is focused on Aaliyah, and Drake's plan to executive produce a posthumous album in her memory has been met with much contention. Singer Ginuwine, who collaborated with Aaliyah while she was alive, is of the thought that Drake should just leave the whole thing alone. "I don't think he should do it," warned Ginuwine. "I don't agree with it. I think he should just leave that alone. I keep hearing about it. I'm not too much up on it but I know a little bit about it. I do know that he's disrespecting Chris and that's just not her legacy. That's not how her legacy should be played out. I don't think he should use her to paddle anybody."

Man Jumps Monorail At The Bronx Zoo And Gets Attacked By Tiger

A man who was in his mid-20s jumped from a monorail at the Bronx Zoo on Friday afternoon and landed in the tiger habitat, where he was attacked by a tiger, zoo officials said. “It sounds like he had some severe deep cuts to his back and a severe injury to a leg,” said Frank Dwyer, a spokesman for the Fire Department. The man was taken to Jacobi Medical Center where the police said he was in critical condition. The attack happened around 3:25 p.m. “Our emergency response staff immediately went to the site and used a CO2 fire extinguisher to move the tiger away from the person,” according to Jim Breheny, the director of the Bronx Zoo. After the tiger backed away, the man was told to roll under an electrified wire to safety. “The keepers were able to call the tiger into its off exhibit holding area and safely secured the animal,” Mr. Breheny said. “The man, about 25 years of age, conscious and talking, was taken to the hospital by ambulance.”

NFL’s Vince Young Blew $26 Million In Six Years And Is Flat Broke?

After signing an NFL rookie contract in 2006 for a guaranteed $26 million, superstar quarterback Vince Young is crying the “I-ain’t-got-no-money blues,” blaming his former agent and financial planner — who he is suing — for his money pit situation. They, in turn, are saying that Young is intellectually diminutive when it comes to money, a real out-of-control spender, and had novices looking out for his financial stability, reports the New York Daily News. The 29-year-old former Buffalo Bills quarterback is suing his former agent, Major Adams, and a North Carolina financial planner, Ronnie Peoples, alleging that they misappropriated $5.5 million. The lawsuit, which was filed in June at a Houston court, also states that there were instances when the pair forged his signature or impersonated him on the phone. Young filed the suit nearly a week after a New York lender contacted him about a loan of nearly $1.9 million, which was in default and was in his name from last year’s NFL lockout. Young is now seeking to stop the lender, Pro Player Funding LLC, from enforcing a judgment of nearly $1.7 million, claiming he wasn’t involved in obtaining the loan and that the proceeds went to Adams and Peoples. According to Forbes, Young was one of at least 10 NFL players who turned to Pro Player Funding for large amounts of money in order to maintain their lifestyles during the lockout. It was reported that he borrowed the $1.9 million at 20 percent interest, with $619,112.26 in interest paid up front, and agreed that a judgment could be entered if he missed a payment. Young allegedly authorized $1 million in payments to Pro Player directly from his Eagles salary during the 2011 season, and his accountant was working this year to have a similar arrangement with the Bills, according to court records. However, when a payment due in May was never made, the loan went in to default. According to Young, Pro Player’s dogged efforts to serve him with papers this summer “played a role” in the Buffalo Bills’ decision to release him this past August prior to the start of the season. On the other hand, the defense lawyers for Peoples and Adams say that the money-squandering blame should fall squarely on Young. They also claim that the Heisman trophy finalist allowed incompetent advisers to manage him, including his uncle who is a middle school teacher. “This is a person scrambling helplessly and pointing in all directions to blame others to get out of debt,” Charles Peckham, Adams’ attorney, told the Associated Press. Young is notorious for spending exorbitant amounts of cash frivolously. He once bought all of the 120 seats on a Southwest Airline flight from Nashville to Houston, because he wanted to be alone, and then reportedly paid someone $200 to carry his bags. In his rookie year at Tennessee, he would allegedly drop $5,000 a week at the Cheesecake Factory restaurant, treating fellow teammates. Last year, Young got in to an altercation at a strip club, when the manager refused to convert $8,000 of Young’s credit card into single dollar bills so that he could make it rain on the dancers. Young was cuffed and charged with a misdemeanor assault.

McDonald’s Calls Police On Man Dressed Up As The Burger King

ROME, Ga. (CBS Atlanta) – Police were called to a local McDonald’s in relation to a disturbance caused by a man dressed as the Burger King. In a police report provided to the Rome News-Tribune, officers indicated that they were summoned to the fast-food restaurant around 1 p.m. on Monday, in response to a call about a suspicious person on the premises. The person was allegedly resplendent in full Burger King regalia. Police stated that, upon his arrival, the Burger King mascot reportedly began to hand out free hamburgers to customers, and stopped to take pictures with several children. Officers were additionally told that one child ran away from the man in fear, the paper learned. The McDonald’s manager told authorities she had approached the unidentified man before calling police. When asked what he was doing, the man allegedly told the manager he was collecting money for charity. The manager noted to police that at no time did the man collect money while inside the McDonald’s. Before leaving in his white Acura, the man removed his mask in view of the manager, the paper learned. She then described him as a white, middle-aged man with dark hair, according to the report.

Webbie Denies Assault Charges Against Woman

(AllHipHop News) Baton Rouge, Louisiana rapper Webbie was bonded out of jail and has categorically denied charges that he assaulted a woman on September 13.
Police in Baton Rogue charged the rapper, born Webster “Webbie” Gradney, Jr, with battery and robbery.
Initial reports claimed that Webbie assaulted the woman in a hotel in Baton Rogue.
In a statement released to AllHipHop.com today (September 14), reps for Webbie’s label Trill Entertainment said the rapper denied all charges levied against him.
“We do understand early morning September 13, 2012 our artist rapper Webster “Webbie’ Gradney, Jr was arrested in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for battery and robbery allegations. He has now been bonded out and at this present time denies all claims and allegations brought against him.”
Earlier today, a lawyer for the unnamed woman released a statement saying initial reports were greatly exaggerated.
Contrary to recent media reports and what can only be described as an exaggeration of actual events, ‘Webbie’ (Webster Gradney, Jr.) did not ‘brutally’ attack my client and, fortunately, my client did not suffer injury requiring medical attention. The ‘robbery’ was unfortunately a non-malicious attempt, by the accused, to deny the woman resources he had given her to leave the city, via air transportation, following their domestic argument. The accused did not ‘meet’ my client at a party but rather they had been residing together, off and on, for more than 18 months. Though a rocky relationship, my client and Mr. Gradney spent the evening together after being separated briefly. The early morning assault is domestic related and should be treated as such. While neither my client nor I condone acts of violence, especially domestic, we will not conspire with the media or officials to paint an inaccurate picture of Mr. Gradney or the events.
“We will not conspire with anyone to deliberately destroy Mr. Gradney’s reputation, life and/or career,” the woman’s lawyer said. “Neither my client nor this case should be used as a tool to send another ‘black rapper’ to prison for any other case or charge that is unrelated to these events. Both parties want nothing more than to move beyond this matter. It’s an unfortunate situation and my client will, however, cooperate with officials as required by law.”
Today (September 14), the woman who remained nameless, they expressed to Webbie that they also deny any and all allegations brought against Mr. Gradney.
“Webbie would also like to go on record saying he does apologize to his family first and fans for this unfortunate misunderstanding; Thank you for all the support,” Webbie’s reps said.

Tupac Hologram Company Files For Bankruptcy

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Digital Domain Media Group made headlines this year when it created a hologram for the late Tupac Shakur that "performed" at a music festival. But that buzz wasn't enough to save the special effects company, which filed for bankruptcy protection on Tuesday.

Digital Domain (DDMG), which went public in November, said in a press release that it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from its creditors. Shares were halted Tuesday but last traded at 55 cents, down 94% from a peak of $9.20 in May. The filing wasn't a shock, as the company had already warned of problems with overhead and long-term debt.

Private investment firm Searchlight Capital Partners will buy Digital Domain's core production business for $15 million, pending court approval.

It's an abrupt end for the nearly 20-year-old company, whose founders include director James Cameron. Before its IPO and Tupac tricks, Digital Domain worked on special effects for scores of big movies including "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Transformers" and Cameron's "Titanic." The company won an Oscar for its work on reverse-aging Brad Pitt's character in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

But Digital Domain's financials have long been a concern. Since the company was typically hired by Hollywood studios on a contract basis, its revenue stream was pretty small. Digital Domain expressed hope recently that expanding the virtual performer business beyond Tupac would be lucrative, as it would be able to get a cut of the ticket sales for such events.

Digital Domain wasn't able to get out of the hole quickly enough. As of June 30, the company had assets of $205 million and debts of $214 million. In August, it had hired Wells Fargo (WFC, Fortune 500) to advise on "strategic alternatives" for the business.

Last week, Digital Domain officially announced a major restructuring that included the resignation of CEO John Textor. The company also shuttered its Port St. Lucie, Fl., operations and fired most of the 320 employees based in that office.

The company had also planned to make its own movies based on its animation and effects. As part of that plan, Digital Domain partnered with studio giant Lionsgate (LGF) to make a film based on the popular sci-fi/fantasy novel "Ender's Game."

That movie is set to be released on November 1, 2013. "The postproduction work remains on schedule," a Lionsgate representative told CNNMoney. "We're confident that we will release the film as planned."

Chi-Ali Released From Prison

Quiet as kept, Chi-Ali has been released from prison after serving about 12 years of a 14-year sentence for second-degree murder. Siccness.net and SOHH reported the rapper's release, which occurred in late August, over a week ago with little fanfare. Now 36 years-old, Chi was recently spotted (see photo below) on the set of Fat Joe's forthcoming video for "Yellow Tape," featuring French Montana and Lil Wayne.
Back in 2000, Chi-Ali shot and killed Sean Raymond, the brother of his then girlfriend. The "Funky Lemonade" rapper went on the run for a little over a year before he was apprehended in 2001.
Chi-Ali came to fame in the early 90s as the youngest member of the Native Tongue collective of MCs that included A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, The Jungle Brothers and Black Sheep. The Bronx native's biggest hit was "Age Ain't Nothin' But A #," which Skyzoo says inspired his own career, from The Fabulous Chi-Ali, his sole album and recorded when he was just 14 years-old.

Looks like the ratchet of VH1's "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" may cost 'em.
According to TheYBF.com, K. Michelle's ex-lover/manager Mickey "Memphitz" Wright is issuing a multi-million dollar defamation lawsuit against VH1 and the R&B singer, as confirmed by his Florida lawyer, Conti Moore. Memphitz also has another lawyer in Georgia co-drafting the lawsuit that will reportedly be filed today.
According to his legal team, Memphitz is furious about the "assassination of his character" dealt on "LHHATL." Though he hasn't been name-dropped, K.Michelle has made several accusations describing Wright, saying that he physically abused her and stole from her. The three-way Twitter beef between Memphitz, K. Michelle and Memphitz's new wife, Toya Wright, has been constantly aired out in public.
Memphitz is taking legal action against all parties involved with the show's production including K.Michelle, NFGTV Inc, executive producer Mona Scott Young's company Monami Entertainment & VH1's parent company Viacom. He says in a statement, "My family and I have suffered tremendously while VH1, Monami Entertainment, and the other companies provided a worldwide platform for K. Michelle to repeatedly assassinate my character. The filing of this suit is to compensate for the irreparable damage that has been done to my reputation and to deter these companies from doing such future harm to others."
In the lawsuit, he asks $1 per viewer per episode that his character has been defamed, meaning pretty much the entire 12-episode season, averaging three to four million viewers every Monday night.
Moore adds, “[Kimberly Michelle Pate] has taken full advantage of society’s tendency to accept claims of domestic violence as always being true, even in the absence of proof. The only abuse that actually occurred is the malicious and calculated pattern of vicious lies Ms. Pate has assailed for the purpose of fabricating a compelling story line in an attempt to ruin my client’s name.”

Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson Refuses To Accept That He's Getting Divorced

Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson is continuing his steady descent into a life full of struggle. After tattooing his wife, Evelyn Lozada's, face on his calf, then tweeting to the Miami Dolphins that's he will take his job back if they'll have him, he has reached a new level of utter confusion.
Lozada filed for divorce soon after she was taken to the hospital for the wound she received after he allegedly head-butted her, but Johnson isn't trying to hear that noise. “Divorce? Child please…that's my WIFE,” he tweeted to someone asking why he would tattoo the Basketball Wives star's face on his body, if they're headed for divorce. When another tweeter brought Lozada's actual filing to his attention, he again refused to care. “I don't give a flying pretzel in skittle rainbow hell what she filed for...”
While her husband is busy tweeting up a storm, Lozada is taking a different approach in dealing with the ordeal. She appeared on ABC's Nightline, and tearfully recounted the incident that led to Johnson's arrest, and explained why she had to end the relationship. “It's the hardest thing in the world, to walk away from someone that you really love,” she said. “But you walk away because I have to protect myself.”
Johnson has yet to grant his first interview, but from the looks of it he may be experiencing the stage of grief known as denial.

Capone was arrested yesterday on charges of child-support evasion after failing to fork over $160,000 dating back to 2004.

According to NY Post, the rapper, best known as N.O.R.E.'s partner-in-rhyme in C-N-N, was released on a $10,000 personal-recognizance bond, and must pay $1,500 a month until his 12-year-old daughter turns 21. Prosecutors claim that the emcee has only made three payments in eight years, amounting to $144.

Chief Keef Says "His Twitter Account Was Hacked On Tweets About Lil' JoJo's Death..."

The Chicago Sun-Times reports local police are investigating Chief Keef and his related tweets after his reaction to the murder of fellow Chicago rapper JoJo.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, local police are investigating possible connections between Interscope rapper Chief Keef and slain fellow Chicago rapper Joseph “Lil JoJo” Coleman. Chief Keef, whose real name is Keith Cozart, sent a series of mocking tweets after Coleman was shot and killed September 4. Chief Keef later said his account was hacked, while his manager, Rovan Manuel, gave the Sun-Times what could be construed as a conflicting explanation.

“Manuel told the Sun-Times he didn’t believe the message meant ‘anything personally,’” a Sun-Times report stated. “He said Keef had a beef with JoJo only because ‘that kid made songs like Keef.’”

“A lot of the stuff Keef does, that’s just cause he’s a kid,” Manuel added. “People forget that he’s a kid, a teenager…and kids make mistakes. He makes mistakes the hard way.”



Chicago police are investigating if Coleman’s murder is related to the ongoing feud between the Gangster Disciples and Black Disciples street gangs in Chicago’s Englewood community. Other alleged members have either made threats or referenced the feud on various social media sites. Some believe the #300 hashtag Chief Keef often uses is a reference to the Black Disciples.

Through March of 2012, shootings in Chicago were up 40 percent citywide over the same period as 2011. Murders were up 66 percent. Through the end of June, shootings were up by 9 percent compared to 2011, and murders by 37 percent. One of those murders includes Southside rapper Joseph “Lil JoJo” Coleman, who was gunned down roughly a block from where Chicago R&B singer Jennifer Hudson’s mother, brother and nephew were slain in 2008.
