T.I.’s LA Drug Charges Have Been Dropped

Prosecutors dropped drug charges against rapper T.I. related to his arrest in West Hollywood, California, last month, the Los Angeles district attorney's office said.
T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, and his wife, "Tiny" Tameka Cottle, were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop on Sunset Boulevard in September.
The arrest and a failed drug test the next day resulted in a federal judge in Georgia ordering the rapper back to prison for 11 months for violating his probation from a weapons conviction.
Harris. 29, must turn himself in next week to begin serving his prison term next week.
Defense lawyer Steve Sadow told CNN the decision to drop the charges was "the right thing to do under the circumstances."
"Both his Los Angeles defense attorney, Blair Berk, and myself commend the Los Angeles district attorney's office for exercising its discretion to reject prosecution in light of the legal and factual issues involved," Sadow said.
It was not immediately clear if charges against Cottle, 35, will be pursued.

T.I. Has Been Sentenced To 11 More Months Of Jail

Declaring that T.I. “has had about the limit of second chances,” U.S. District Judge Charles Pannell Jr. sentenced the rapper and movie actor to 11 more months in prison for violating his probation. The rapper will begin serving his time at a later date.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., asked the court for leniency. “I screwed up,” said the rapper, wearing a three-piece gray suit. “I screwed up bigtime, and I’m sorry. I’m truly and sincerely sorry. I don’t want and I don’t need to use drugs anymore. I want them out of my life.”
