(Houston) – The bizarre antics of Comedian Katt Williams continues as he reportedly canceled yet another show, this time at the Toyota Center in Houston. On Thursday, authorities issued a felony arrest warrant for Williams related to a police chase in California. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department says the warrant issued Thursday is for reckless driving.

Lil Boosie To Be Released in 60 Days
After beating a 1st. degree murder case and then pleading guilty to smuggling drugs into a prison sources close to his camp have confirmed that Torrence Hatch better known as Lil Boosie, a chart topping Baton Rouge recording artist will in fact be released from prison in less than 60 days because as they classified it, he was setup on the drug charge. His legal team immediately jumped into high gear once he accepted the plea after realizing that his plea was made under duress. Investigators said he tried to smuggle drugs into Dixon Correctional Center once and into Angola State Penitentiary twice. However according to the source, the rapper admitted earlier that he had a substance abuse problem and that a police informant offered to provide him with “syrup” and of course if you offer a drug addict drugs he’s going to accept it, especially in a controlled environment like prison.”

Michael Jordan banned from the golf course for his wardrobe
Retirement has not been kind to Michael Jordan's fashion sense, and now Jordan's curious wardrobe choices seem to have gotten him banned from La Gorce Country Club in Miami. The New York Post has the story, in which anonymous sources claim that Jordan arrived at the golf course wearing cargo pants, refused to change out of them upon finding out that he was in violation of the club's dress code, and was subsequently barred from returning. The Post even got Jordan's PR rep to comment on the incident, rather hilariously: Michael Jordan did wear cargo pants . . . He had been there many times before and had worn cargo pants previously, and had never been made aware that he was violating any dress code. This time, he was made aware of the violation on the 12th hole, and at that point . . . he did refuse to interrupt his game, and return to the clubhouse and change. We were not aware that he is not allowed to return to La Gorce. I guess it's their loss - as MJ is a great golfer, and a great guest. Boom. Your loss, snooty country club. Mike will be off enjoying the combination of comfort and storage that only cargo pants can offer while you waste away in your ivory tower. Did you know that you can carry, like, six Yo-Yos at once in a pair of cargo pants? Bet you didn't know that.

life is good?? #IRSGANGSTA wants nas concert earnings!
The State of Georgia is rooting for Nas to make a fortune on his concert tour ... because the government just got the green light to garnish a MILLION BUCKS from his earnings to repay a massive tax debt. The Georgia Department of Revenue has filed new legal docs in their effort to collect $1,083,435 from the rapper for taxes it claims Nas owes for the years 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010. According to court docs, the GDR obtained an order commanding Live Nation -- the promo company behind Nas' tour with Lauryn Hill -- to garnish his wages until the dept is satisfied. The tour is currently underway, and Nas -- who's also on the hook for millions in unpaid taxes to the federal government -- is sure to make a boatload of money. A rep for Nas tells TMZ the matter has recently been settled -- but the GDR insists the case is still open and they're trying to collect.

R.I.P: Tuskegee Airman Herbert Carter Dead At 95
Retired Lt. Col. Herbert Carter, one of the original Tuskegee Airmen, died Thursday at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, according to Tuskegee Mayor Johnny Ford. He was 95 years old. Via The Grio:
Montgomery Advertiser reports that Carter was one of only four from the original group of 33 fighter pilots still alive. He was also one of the most vocal about the legacy of the African-American World War II pilots. They’ve been credited for their instrumental part in not only breaking down racial walls in the military, but helping to win the war. Their mission was to protect bombers as they tried to attack enemy troops. Carter continued to serve in the Air Force after the war before retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 1969. He then became the associate dean for student services at Tuskegeee University and served in several other positions during his time there. Abuse Victim Angered By Father's 1-Year Prison Sentence For Impregnating Her
Tiara Stevens has experienced unspeakable pain at the hands of her father. The 27-year-old, from South Carolina, was s-xually abused by her dad, Fred Lee Montgomery, and even gave birth to his child. After waiting for over a decade for justice to be served, Stevens was upset to learn that Montgomery only received a year in prison for the crime. “It was a slap in my face,” she said. Stevens gave birth to a son/brother who is albino and blind because of the inner-mixing of the same genes. Throughout the pregnancy, Stevens was unaware that she was with child until the day before he was born, after she went into labor at school. “To wait 14 years and all a person gets is 1 year? A pat on the back telling them it's okay to m-lest your daughter, impregnate her, and for her to have a child, a blind child? It's ok?” Montgomery was indicted in 2000 after a DNA test confirmed that he was the father of his grandson. He bonded out of custody, and continued to live in the same small town as his daughter and their child. After continuous prodding from Stevens, and a fire at the 6th Circuit Solicitor's Office (which destroyed Montgomery's court documents), authorities finally went forward with a trial— 12 years later. “We didn't used to have a computerized system up here,” said solicitor Doug Barfield, who noted that they department “did not realize” that they had stalled on the case. Stevens told authorities that her son was conceived after she was attacked by her father in the mobile home that they shared, back in 1999, but she was s -xually assaulted by him on other occasions. Now an advocate for victim's right, Stevens has forgiven her father but grapples with what to call her son. “That confuses me a lot. It's like, ‘Which one are you today? Are you my son, or are you my brother?' Because he's really both.” Read more at http://hiphopwired.com/2012/11/09/abuse-victim-angered-by-fathers-1-year-prison-sentence-for-impregnating-her-photos/#Szw3uV0SCj3TrcMZ.99
Katt Williams Facing $5 Million Lawsuit For Allegedly Punching Female Assistant
Cee Lo Involved In Brawl With Two Women In Miami Hotel
According to reports from TMZ, Cee Lo was involved in a brawl with two females back in July 2011. Cee Lo was out clubbing at a Miami nightclub and invited two women back to his hotel room for an "afterparty". According to Cee Lo and a witness, both females were extremely intoxicated, as one of them began to argue with him. He decided that he didn't want to entertain a senseless argument, so Cee Lo placed his hands on the woman's shoulders and began to escort her out of his hotel room when she screamed at him "fat motherf***er," to which Cee Lo became aggravated and responded, "You need to leave, b*tch." From there the argument reached a boiling point outside of the hotel room when the woman pounced on Cee Lo and began rocking him with punches and slaps to his face. Cee Lo defended himself against the feminine onslaught which lead to the woman's other female friend jumping in and attacking Cee Lo from behind. After the police arrived at the scene, they came to the conclusion that the fight was mutual and couldn't place any sole blame on either side, so no one was arrested. Source: tmz.com

40 Glocc Sues Game Over Assault
40 Glocc has filed a lawsuit against Game over an altercation that took place in June, in which Game and his crew of 15 men allegedly attacked 40 Glocc. The whole altercation was caught on Game's iPhone, which was later uploaded to YouTube with the title, "The Game Beats Up 40 Glocc Whilst Recording on iPhone Full Video." 40 Glocc insists that the video doesn't tell the whole story of what went down, and claims that Game aimed a gun at him and shouted, "Freeze or I'ma shoot, n*gga." 40 then says that he tried to run away from Game, who caught up to him and allegedly told 40 not to fight back. In documents obtained by TMZ, 40 Glocc says he obliged to Game's request and suffered major injuries to his right eye, ribs, kidneys, right shoulder and back. 40 Glocc is suing Game for unspecified damages, but TMZ predicts that he's wanting millions due to the injuries suffered in the fight and his thug persona being damaged, as he was portrayed as a coward in the video. Sources close to Game are insisting it was a one-on-one fight, and say that he never pulled a gun on 40 Glocc. Source: TMZ
Lil Reese Apologizes To The Woman He Attacked On tape
GBE member Lil Reese issued an apology for attacking Chicago woman Tiairah Marie via his Twitter last night. The video was apparently rather old, possibly as dated as a year ago or more. When the tape went viral online, Reese didn't initially apologize. Instead, he targeted "haters" for trying to bring him down.
Now, Reese has finally found it in his heart to let everyone know he's sorry.
"Everybody makes mistakes I was out of character & I've grown since then," tweeted Reese. "Don't judge me for my past I can admit my wrongs and I apologize. #3hunna."
It's encouraging that Lil Reese has apologized, and hopefully he has truly learned a lesson.

NYPD SAYS THEY KNOW WHO MURDERED JAM MASTER JAY!
Hip-hop pioneers Run-DMC are back on tour — their first without the backbeat of the group, DJ Jam Master Jay, the victim of an unsolved slaying shrouded in mystery and lack of cooperation by witnesses. The platinum-selling band — which brought hip-hop to the mainstream with hits like “It’s Tricky,” “King of Rock” and a remake of Aerosmith’s “Walk This Way” — kicked off a tour last month even as the NYPD remains frustrated the 2002 execution-style rubout of the hip-hop star, whose real name was Jason Mizell, remains stalled 10 years later. “We never really had a good lead,” the case’s head detective, Vincent Santangelo, told the Daily News. “Nobody would or nobody could tell us the who or what. We’re still looking for that person.” Law enforcement sources, who at one time worked the case, said the people inside Mizell's 24/7 recording studio provided a play-by-play account of the Oct. 30, 2002 murder — but everyone stopped short in identifying the gunman or his sidekick. The 37-year-old turntable wizard — who stayed anchored near the hardscrabble Hollis neighborhood where he grew up — arrived at the studio just hours before the killing. After packing some equipment for a show in Philadelphia the next day, Mizell got a bite to eat and took a seat on a couch at the rear of the studio. His pal, Uriel (Tony) Rincon, sat next to him and the pair began playing a video game. Mizell placed a .45-caliber pistol on the arm rest. A short time later, Mizell's assistant, Lydia High, entered the cramped studio to go over his itinerary. High's brother, Randy Allen - Mizell's longtime pal and business partner - soon came in with two friends, but they shut themselves in the control room at the front of the studio. Everyone had been in the room for less than an hour when a man dressed in black, possibly wearing a hat, stepped in and gave Mizell a hug about 7:30 p.m. But after the short embrace, the man pulled out a .40-caliber handgun. “Oh, s----,” was all a witness heard Mizell say before a shot rang out. The bullet pierced Rincon’s left leg. Then, a second shot hit Mizell in the head, killing him before he hit the floor. The killer and his accomplice, who was standing outside the door, both sprinted out of the two-story building and disappeared. Santangelo, a 22-year vet, and his team spent years chasing scores of leads that sometimes brought him to cities across the country. No arrests have been made, but Santangelo believes that could change with the help of a good tipster — who can collect a $60,000 reward if there's a conviction. But the sources, who spoke to the News last week, said they've already fingered one of Mizell's killers, but making an arrest been hampered by reluctant witnesses and bad press. “We just never had enough to make it stick,” said one of the sources. Investigators suspect career criminal Ronald Washington was either the lookout or the gunman. The hit was likely ordered after Mizell — who owed up to $500,000 to the IRS — refused to settle a decade-old drug debt with his old friend Curtis Scoon, the sources said. Washington — who is serving a 17-year stint for armed robbery — allegedly confessed his role in the killing to a former girlfriend, authorities have said. “She was credible. She was a witness who we vetted,” said one source. “We had enough to bring it to a judge.” High, who allegedly buzzed the killers into Mizell's studio, said Washington was one of the killers, but she later recanted. “She (also) changed her story three or four times after,” another source said. Neither Washington nor Scoon, who now lives in Georgia, was ever charged. “As time goes by, he becomes less and less of a suspect,” said Scoon’s lawyer, Marvyn Kornberg. “He’s moved on with his life.” The open case has left Mizell’s family shattered. “The past 10 years has been really hard,” said the jam master’s brother, Marvin Thompson, 57. “There’s still so many unanswered questions. ... I pray that someone will step up and close this case and give us some peace.” Thompson, too, is convinced that Washington was one of Mizell’s killers. “It’s frustrating,” he said. “But the fact that he’s in jail ... I guess that’s some kind of closure.” Mizell’s 77-year-old mother, Connie Mizell-Perry, said she believes karma will eventually sneak up on the wanted men. Speaking from her North Carolina home, she had one thing to say to the killers: “One of these days, you’re going to think you have it made and someone is going to tap you on the shoulder and say, ‘Gotcha!’” For now, though, the focus is on Run DMC, the revived hip-hop trio, now a duo with no turntables behind their microphones. Partners Darryl (DMC) McDaniels and Joe (Run) Simmons soldier on. “I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since Jay’s death,” McDaniels said in a statement to the Daily News. “That’s crazy. It seems like I just saw him yesterday. “He impacted other people’s lives and that’s the Jay I loved and respected,” McDaniels added. “But spiritually, he’s always with me. His presence is felt as strongly today as it was the night he passed away.”

Epic Uppercut Throwing Bus Driver & Out Of Pocket Passenger Charged With Misdemeanors
It was the epic uppercut seen, and heard, around the world Internets. Misdemeanor criminal charges were filed today against the male bus driver, Artis Hughes, 59, that 2-pieced a female passenger, Shi'dea "It Hurted" Lane, 25, in Cleveland a month ago. Hughes and Lane were charged with assault and disorderly conduct, respectively, reports The Smoking Gun. Although the incident occurred a month ago to the day (September 18th), the charges weren't filed until today in Shaker Heights Municipal Court, about week after footage of the altercation on the RTA bus went viral. Witnesses told cops that Lane appeared “drunk” and became verbally abusive to Hughes after she failed to immediately pay her fare. Hughes told investigators that he “protected myself” after Lane "grabbed me in the throat and spit on me in the face." Hughes remains suspended without pay from his RTA job, according to an agency spokesperson. He faces a maximum of six months in jail and a $1000 fine if convicted of the assault count. Lane's lesser charge carries a maximum of 30 days in custody and a $250 fine. In a Facebook posting earlier today, Lane (pictured above) wrote, “God iz an awesome god only god can judge me I love u mommys honey bun .” Read more at http://hiphopwired.com/2012/10/18/epic-uppercut-throwing-bus-driver-out-of-pocket-passenger-charged-with-misdemeanors/#Q6WX3sla2FKcTkRf.99
Flavor Flav Accused Of Chasing Girlfriend's Son With Knives & Threatening To Kill Him
Flavor Flav's old man tirade hit the struggle level when he was arrested at his Las Vegas home for assault with a deadly weapon Wednesday (Oct. 17), and now we're finding out the details behind his downward spiral. The 53-year-old New York native was double-fisted with a couple of knives when he ran after his fiancée's son, reports TMZ. Flav, real name William Drayton Jr., allegedly threw his lady love, 39-year-old Elizabeth Trujillo, to the ground and ripped out her earrings (ouch!), before setting his eyes on her son. According to the police report, the teen son jumped in to save his mother before being met with knives of fury. The elderly Public Enemy hypeman also kicked down a locked door to get to the son, before showering him with threats against his life. The whole argument started over accusations that Flav— who is obviously irresistible to the ladies— was being unfaithful. Things got heated, the fiancée ended up on the ground, her son ended up being chased, and Flav ended up in the back of a squad car on his way to jail where he was booked on misdemeanor battery and felony assault charges. He has since posted $23,000 bail and has been released, and is scheduled to appear in court next week. Read more at

Young Dro Slapped With Lien, Owes Over $45K In Back Taxes
It's time to add Young Dro to the list of rappers facing a pesky tax struggle. Months after the "Shoulder Lean" rapper's Maserati was repossessed, comes word that he owes the state of Georgia a serious chunk of change. According to TMZ, Dro, born D'Juan Hart, owes the state more than $45,000, for failing to pay his taxes back in 2007. In total, Dro is accused of not paying the state of Georgia $45,139.99. As a result, the Georgia Dept. of Revenue filed documents against him, to officially take the steps to recoup the funds. Always a professional Dro is focussed on his music, despite the news about his finances. He took to Twitter early Monday (Oct. 15) morning, to announce plans to drop new tracks depending on how much his followers increase. "I will be leaking new music every 1,000 followers that I receive RT#droback." Dro previously released the mixtape, Ralph Lauren Reefa, which came out in September. Rather than solely worrying about his online presence, the Georgia native may want to keep an eye on his money, and make a call to his accountant. Aside from the tax bill, he owes the leasing company that repoed his car, $61,220.37, raising his debt total to more than $100,000. Dr. Cornel West Encourages Jay-Z To Be Honest About His Stake In Brooklyn Nets
Dr. Cornel West speaks on how Jay-Z should be completely honest about how much of the team he actually owns. There's been some speculation that Jay-Z doesn't own as much of the Brooklyn Nets as he lets on, with some stating that he only holds a stake of one-fifteenth of one percent. Dr. Cornel West, who has been friends with Hov for some time, recently spoke on the "Jay-Z came from the Marcy projects, but look at him now. He owns the whole - no, he owns one-fifteenth of one percent of the whole stadium. Let's get it right, now," he said. "They got a Russian gangster who owns 80 percent." He said that Jay should be held accountable for how much he actually owns of the team and that he's only encouraging him to be honest "out of love." "Now I love Jay-Z, I've spent much time with the brother. He's a lyrical genius. But we've got to tell him the truth," he said. "Tell the truth, Jay-Z. You tell the truth on Reasonable Doubt in 1996, that's what he started out with. He's telling the truth, we love you negro. But we gon' make sure you're accountable too. All of us in this together, and I'm saying it out of love." Watch the video below (via JoyDailyTV). DEAR RAPPER, ABANDON THESE 8 MARKETING STRATEGIES
Every couple of years, the musical landscape undergoes seismic shifts. As the way people consume music changes, the way artists attempt to delivery it to them must adapt as well. Those transitions mean that marketing moves that once worked for disseminating material from new artists falls on the deaf ears of fans. Methods and means considered successful yesterday end up get ignored today because every artist has tapped into and bludgeoned the marketing strategies to the point of being ineffective. How do we know what we’re about to share is true? Well, we don’t know it’s 100% accurate. Call it our hypothesis built off countless hours sorting through the worst submissions ever crafted by man, trial and error from experience while consulting along with confirmation from a few artists willing to confirm they wasted a lot of money chasing their dream using the wrong means.
Problem #1: Setting release dates too far in advance So many things lead to the date never sticking anyway. The artwork’s late. The guest artist you were counting on didn’t mail in his verse. Your paycheck’s short and mastering can’t be completed on time. Whatever the case, the misfire only leads to a letdown and building mistrust with fans.
Problem #2: Printing an outrageous number of physical copies The overhead makes this almost illogical but even if you can get them dirt cheap are you really passing all of them out? Do you have the garage space to accommodate those extras Frisbees? Is a plastic slip-case with Kinko’s paper posing as artwork what we’re calling putting your best foot forward?
Problem #3: Paying for self-promotion Buying YouTube views, Twitter followers and Facebook likes is the new payola in 2012. Stop it. It’s transparent and it all comes crumbling down when you go to rock a show and only a small crowd turns up to support.
Problem #4: Paying to perform Any promoter that charges you to perform isn’t looking out for your best interests. The end.
Problem #5: Buying pre-packaged songs Remember a few years ago when T-Pain was selling songs that already had hooks and double-dipping on the process? Then every rapper in every major city had the same damn T-Pain song on his new mixtape. As fans we know when you actually collaborated with an artist and when you just bought a copy/paste job. If semi-famous rapper sells a beat that already has his verse on it you can bet he mailed it in and you’re paying for name recognition for an artist that doesn’t know who you are.
Problem #6: Paying For radio/DJ placements The radio isn’t what it used to be. While radio play is an important facet of your budding buzz, paying for a #1 spot at the local “Traffic Jam” isn’t the same sort of triumph that it was a decade ago. Now, more people are listening to iPods and music they find online so fewer ears are hearing your product. The same applies for placements with club DJs, especially if the record is mediocre. He’ll play the single…but only in your presence.
Problem #7: The weekly song release strategy “Wild Wednesday,” “Mp3 Monday,” and “Surprise Saturdays.” Just make them stop. Here’s a cold, hard fact: Crooked I was the be-all, end-all of the weekly freestyle drops. The man took the concept, pulverized it, poured lime on it and buried it next to Jimmy Hoffa. Quit searching for the magic chemistry that he created because nobody’s going to recreate it.
Problem #8: Stop paying for email blasts Not saying these don’t work but they seem to be the equivalent of shooting into a crowded club and ultimately ending up with collateral damage. They may hit something, but they’re ultimately just sloppy work. All that glitters is not gold and when an email blast service says they can “guarantee” they’ll get your song or video to “over 100K music industry professionals”…wait, just read that again.
